Funded by the Caruth Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star (BBBS LS), in partnership with Dare Mighty Things (DMT), presents the Getting to Ready Webinar Series. This four part series shares what BBBS LS discovered in the process of getting ready to serve youth facing a wide range of adversity – specifically truancy and adjudication. The premise of the work is that setting up a strong infrastructure that creates stronger matches and increased school connectedness for all students is the critical foundation for successful work with harder to reach youth. BBBS LS uncovered innovations in match support, academic intervention strategies, partnerships, and mentor recruiting and retention that lay this foundation.
