Dare Mighty Things named ACF Outstanding Contractor of the Year

October 2008 - Dare Mighty Things, Inc. has been awarded the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Assistant Secretary's 2008 Outstanding Contractor of the Year award for their work on behalf of the Compassion Capital Fund in designing and developing an integrated, web-based system with two user interfaces (one for Federal and contractor staff, and one for grantees) for use in supporting CCF grantees and their programs.

The award was presented to Dare Mighty Things (DMT) on Thursday, Oct. 30, in Washington, DC, before a gathering of several hundred federal employees by Daniel Schneider, assistant secretary for the Administration for Children and Families. Schneider commended DMT saying, "We are fortunate to have partners of your caliber in ACF and know we can count on you to continue to perform your duties and responsibilities in an exemplary manner. Again, congratulations on your selection to receive this prestigious award."

The system's user interface for Federal/contractor staff is a customized CRM that enables Federal staff to manage the program and their workloads, track progress, assess grantee performance, and report program outcomes. The system's grantee user interface is a customized community of practice website that enables grantees to access and share capacity building and grant management tools and resources. Each grantee has a unique view of the site. Using a SharePoint portal system, DMT filters content by grantee, grant program, and cohort year. This eliminates the need for grantees to search through resources that do not apply to them.

The Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) is a key component of the President's Faith-Based Community Initiative. CCF helps faith-based and community organizations increase their effectiveness and scale to provide social services to those most in need. DMT was hired at the inception of the program to help develop the program and provide training and technical assistance to over 500 grantees across the United States.
