DMT wins Federal contract to help service members

March 2010 - Dare Mighty Things, along with Military Personnel Services Corporation (MPSC) of Falls Church, VA, has been awarded the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) contract from the National Guard. The work includes providing information, services, referrals and proactive outreach programs to service members of the National Guard and Reserves and their families through all phases of the deployment cycle. Dare Mighty Things is supporting this program by developing a standardized “toolkit” using field-tested best practices that have proven successful throughout the nation.

The evolution of YRRP at national, state, and local levels across all reserve components has underscored the need for a consolidation and promulgation of best practices to increase consistency in performance and expand services in both scale and effectiveness. The work of Dare Mighty Things and MPSC will ensure more standardized services and increase family readiness before, during, and after member deployment.

David Van Patten, president of Dare Mighty Things, said, “This project is an important step in helping National Guard and Reserves families. When our work is complete, these service members and their families will be more educated and feel more supported, allowing them to serve our country with greater confidence."
