DMT announces two new mentoring contracts

May 2010 - Dare Mighty Things (DMT) is pleased to announce two new contracts that showcase mentoring relationships. DMT’s strengths in program development, scaling, and technology infused solutions are well suited to the challenges that Big Brothers Big Sisters North Texas (BBBSNT) and iMentor have brought forward. The creative Learning Solutions team at DMT is uniquely qualified to provide the curriculum and technology based solutions needed for these two contracts.

DMT will team with BBBSNT to pilot an effective approach to prevent and reduce crime in Dallas County, funded through the Caruth Foundation. BBBSNT will mentor 1,000 youth at three critical junctures: elementary school students who have failed their 3rdgrade standardized tests, truant middle school students, and adjudicated adolescents. DMT will provide performance management services, and will assist BBBSNT in creating a scalable, replicable model for preventing and reducing crime in Texas and beyond.

In addition, DMT will begin work with iMentor to create a user manual for their iMentor Interactive (iMi) platform. iMi is a custom web-based system for mentoring programs that allows mentors and mentees to stay in touch through social networking and email, and enables case managers to track interactions and evaluate outcomes.

Additional information about BBBSNT and iMentor is available online.
