May 2009 – Dare Mighty Things has been engaged by the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to help new grantees successfully launch new programs for children and youth. Throughout the spring, DMT consultants are training hundreds of program leaders in organizational development and grant management best practices. The workshops will focus on various topics including empowering leadership, team building practices, innovative staffing and recruiting plans, and low-cost Web management tools.
The first training workshop was held in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with successive sessions planned for Portland, OR, and St. Louis, MO. One participant claimed that the training was “the most important workshop of the event.” As a result of these sessions, DMT expects to help build the capacity of hundreds of youth programs, impacting thousands of vulnerable youth nationwide.
