August 2009 – In July, DMT trained at a conference attended by more than 150 consultants and technical assistance providers.  The training was in the use of Web 2.0 technology at the annual conference of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management in Palm Springs.

Venessa Mendenhall and Sarah Mullins of DMT led a session entitled Going Virtual: Using the Internet to Recruit, Train, Fundraise, and More!  Their presentation introduced participants to a variety of free and low-cost online tools they can harness to recruit and train high-quality volunteers and staff, collaborate with partners, raise funds, and manage client records.

Upon her return, Venessa said, “It was wonderful to see participants respond so positively to the training and ask us for technical assistance.  It spoke to the value of the training and topic.”

The Alliance for Nonprofit Management is a professional organization comprised of individuals and organizations committed to building the capacity of not-for-profit organizations nationwide.
