Jacqueline Bessette Named to International Board

By February 28, 2017News

I am proud to announce that Jacqueline Bessette has been named to the Board of Directors for the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The Board is the guiding force for the association that advances the global workforce by providing the standard framework for quality learning and development through accreditation. Board members reflect IACET’s membership and constituent groups. They come from IACET Accredited Providers or hold an individual membership in the association. The IACET Board of Directors includes IACET Board Officers, the immediate Past President, and no more than fifteen other members.

Jacqueline will bring a record of superior service to the Board. In the past six years, she has advanced from an instructional systems analyst to the top of Dare Mighty Things (DMT) as the Director of Creative Learning Solutions, and as the program director for our largest training projects in the government and nonprofit sectors. With a background in education and communications, including a Master Arts in Communication Studies from San Diego State University, she provides a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, combined with tireless energy and a commitment to quality products and services. She is a servant leader – a team player who knows how to establish a vision and inspire others to achieve it. Jacqueline has a unique ability to stay true to all aspects of the ANSI/IACET Standard, tailor training products and services to meet unique program needs, and stay on the leading edge of creative learning applications. These strengths will be well-received by her fellow Board Members just as they are by senior officials in the agencies we serve.

Jacqueline authored a feature article in Learning Solutions Magazine that was ranked among the Top 10 articles of 2014. The magazine is a publication of the E-learning Guild – the oldest and most trusted source of information, networking, and community for e-learning professionals. The article, Six Instructional Design Tips for Learner Engagement, discussed innovative ways to create online learning that engages learners, improves outcomes, and results in the highest learner retention. Jacqueline was a contributor in the eBook, 72 Tips for Using Media to Engage and Teach, and has presented at multiple national conferences and online forums, sharing the innovative approaches DMT incorporates in technology-enabled training. In addition to her leadership in DMT, she has provided pro bono training to City Year New Hampshire and currently serves as an adjunct professor in Communications with Southern New Hampshire University.

Congratulations to Jacqueline for this well-deserved honor. I am confident Jacqueline will make significant contributions to the Association and the membership it serves.
